Language Workshop: In-Person
This course will involve up to 30 hours of total course time beginning April 22, 23, 24, 2025, at 5-7pm PT, online, and then two full days of face-to-face Cherokee Nation teacher interaction in your area April 26&27, 2025, 9-4 PT, and then a 12 hour online follow-up April 29, 30, & May 1, 2025, 5-7PM PT.

Traditional Foods Cultural Presentation
Please mark your calendars for the Traditional Foods cultural presentation, hosted by the Cherokee Nation. We will meet at the Longhouse and provide a meal. RSVP by February 28th HERE.
We Ride for Her Documentary
This Tuesday, January 21, at 6:30pm, we encourage members to attend the screening of “We Ride for Her,” a 20-minute documentary about missing and murdered indigenous women, girls, and two-spirit people. Guest speaker Marta Lu Clifford, Chinook, Cree, Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, will talk after the film. Marta Lu is an elder-in-residence at UO and co-founder of illioo Native Theater, which produces Native, First Nations, and Indigenous theater and spoken word.
The WE RIDE FOR HER screening is 6:30 pm Tuesday, Jan. 21, at Unitarian Universalist Church, 1685 West 13th Avenue. FREE

Cookies, Conversation, & Crafts
Saturday, December 7 from 10am-12:30pm, we will meet at the Longhouse to celebrate our community and reflect on our organization. We’ll provide coffee and cookies and simple crafts to enjoy while we visit. Posters will offer information about our bylaws and volunteer needs, allowing space for everyone to add comments and suggestions for the year ahead.

History Course with Cherokee Nation Guest
Join us for a special 2-day in-person history course with a special guest from the Cherokee Nation. Lunch and snacks will be provided on both days. RSVP by 10/4 to reserve your spot!

Traditional Games & Gourd Masks
Join us for a variety of traditional games (Stickball, Marbles, Chunkey) and/or create a miniature gourd mask! Light snacks will be provided. Register HERE by 9/6.

2024 Annual Chief's Visit
Visit with Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr., Deputy Chief Bryan Warner, and at-large councilors Johnny Kidwell and Julia Coates at this gathering for at-large citizens on Saturday, August 3rd in Salem, OR!
Enjoy cultural presentations and demonstrations which may include: Miss Cherokee, storytelling, flute playing, and traditional arts and crafts.
Cherokee Nation Registration will be on-site for photo IDs and citizenship applications. Photo IDs will stop accepting applications 30 minutes before the end of the event. Education Services and Cherokee Vote will also be on location to assist citizens.
Lunch will be provided by the Cherokee Nation.

Ribbon Skirt Workshop
Join us for our Ribbon Skirt Workshop with special guest, Seli Stewart! Seli (Sarah) Stewart is a Special Projects Officer within Cherokee Nation's department of community and cultural outreach. She has been sewing for most of her life after learning the basics in junior high school and beading since 2016. She became a TERO certified artist in March of 2022. Most of Seli's art projects focus on Cherokee stories, culture, and language. She was most recently awarded 2nd place in the category of emerging artists at the Trail of Tears Art Show in 2023 for her cornhusk doll, and has created apparel for First Daughter, Jazzy Hoskin, and Delegate Kim Teehee.
Lunch and crafting materials are provided.

Annual Chief's Picnic
Join us as we welcome Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr and At-Large Council Members at our annual meeting and picnic! There will be a variety of cultural presentations and activities. The Registrar's office will be on site to issue ID cards. This is an outdoor event and attendees should bring their own chairs. Beading and Language Event
Join us for a beading and language event! We’ll practice the Cherokee language and learn to make a variety of beaded jewelry. A meal will be provided.

Bingo and Valentines
Join us as we play Cherokee Bingo and create Valentine’s Day cards for veterans. Practice the Cherokee language and win fabulous prizes! Snacks are included.

Join us as we welcome Cherokee Nation Special Projects Officer Abraham Bearpaw as he shares with us the importance of reconnecting with our heritage.
